Product Overview
Iron is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth's crust, making up roughly 5% of its mass. It is the most widely used metal in the world, present in about 95% of all metal tonnage produced. Most mined iron ore goes into the production of pig iron and, in turn, steel. The most important iron-bearing minerals are magnetite (Fe₃O₄) and hematite (Fe₂O₃), each with distinct processing characteristics.
